Set in the early 1900s, Oklahoma! is a beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that tells the story of a rugged frontier community in the Oklahoma Territory, on the verge of statehood.

 

At its heart are two intertwining love stories: the playful romance between Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a headstrong farm girl, and the comedic courtship between Ado Annie, a flirtatious young woman, and her hapless suitor, Will Parker.As Curly and Laurey navigate their feelings for each other, they are pulled into a dangerous rivalry with Jud Fry, a brooding farmhand who harbors a dark obsession for Laurey.

 

Their love is tested by pride, jealousy, and the uncertainties of the untamed frontier. Meanwhile, Ado Annie’s indecision between Will and the smooth-talking peddler Ali Hakim provides moments of humor and lightheartedness.Featuring unforgettable songs like “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top,” and “People Will Say We’re in Love,” Oklahoma! explores themes of love, community, and the American pioneer spirit.
